Miah's Birthday

Miah's birthday morning began with sleeping in and breakfast in bed. She had some of her buddies over for the night, too. Breakfast was puff-pancakes, strawberries, cream cheese and to top it all off some whipped cream. Very yummy!

The original plan for the day was for some of the teen friends to come over and play football and volleyball, followed by dinner, cake and maybe square-dancing in the evening. The weather, unfortunately, didn't cooperate with the plan and it was too rainy to play outside. The plan then changed to a bowling trip and then dinner, cake and hanging out at our house. Leah and I loaded up the pre-teens and headed into town through the fog. We got to the bowling alley and found out that they were completely full and that it was going to be a couple of hours before they could fit our group in! After standing around in the drizzle trying to figure out what to do, we decided to come back to the house and make play things by ear, since the whole planning thing didn't seem to be working for us. After we got back home the weather started to clear off enough that we were able to play outside for a while. Miah opened presents...

...Square-danced...

...And of course had cake.

All in all it ended up to be a very fun day. Happy Birthday, Miah!

Wow! Miah looks like Aunt Teresa at about that age!
