Ellerslie Update--May

Hey everyone!

The packing has officially begun. I can't believe that I leave for Ellerslie in just over one week! The last few months have flown by amazingly fast, and judging by everything on the calendar, this week is going to fly by equally as fast.

Through my fabulous family and friends the Lord has provided the rest of the finances I need for my time at Ellerslie as well as for a trip to Haiti. Thank you Jesus, and thank you everyone who has supported me financially and in prayer!

At this point, it is not looking like a group trip to Haiti will be possible this summer. Danita's Children (the orphanage we were planning to serve at) has recently moved everyone out of the Haitian-built buildings they have been using in case there is another earthquake. So, since they're now a few buildings short, they don't have space for a group of volunteers to stay. I am still hoping to serve at Danita's Children or somewhere else in Haiti at some point, but I don't know when that will be.

Please feel free to email me throughout the summer (allhisgirl@yahoo.com), or you can write me snail mail fashion:

Prayer requests:
*That this week, though busy, would be peaceful, and that I would have wisdom in packing and in how to best use my time;
*For safety when I drive up to Windsor next Monday;
*For strength as I say goodbye to my family and friends for the summer (it's definitely not going to be easy);
*That I would get settled in at Ellerslie quickly, that I would grow and learn a lot this summer, and that my relationship with the Lord would continue to deepen and strengthen;
*For wisdom about when and where to volunteer in Haiti.

I just want to say again how thankful I am for each of you.

Blessings!
~ Leah
