Ellerslie Update -- April 2011

Hello Everyone,
Where in the world does time go?  I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get this update to you!

Well, as most of you know, I have been home now for almost 2 weeks (!) and have been settling back into the routine of things here.  So far so good.  = ) April is a big birthday months for my family and there has been a lot of other "just life" happening.  I miss all my Ellerslie friends a lot, but it has been wonderful reconnecting with my family and friends here.  Jesus is just as present here as He was at Ellerslie and His joy is just as sweet.  It truly is good to be home!

The last five week of Ellerslie were absolutely amazing!  The friendships and joy around campus continued to grow, the classes were rich and full and fellowship with my Jesus became even sweeter.  Like I have said in previous emails, it was so amazing to have truth poured into me at such a concentrated level!  There are so many sweet memories that I will always treasure and so many truths that I pray will overtake my every thought and action.  It is a strange emotion coming out of an experience like that.  On the one hand, there is a level of grief over leaving the friends and the environment, but on the other hand there is a great excitement and joy in following Jesus into His plan for my life.  One of the things that I am most thankful for is that I have had complete peace in regards to my next steps.  That is not to say that I know for sure what they are yet, but I trust my Jesus and know that His timing and way is perfect and therefore when I am in obedience to Him, everything will work out for His glory.  Jesus is ever faithful and true and there is so much joy found at His feet!

During the first few weeks up at Ellerslie, God was very clearly calling me to seek Him and know Him for who He is.  As I was praying about how to even begin, I felt like He was leading me to read through Psalms.  It was one of the sweetest studies I have ever done and I am blown away at the small taste that it gives me of the nature and promise of who my Jesus is.  I wanted to share with you what I found, and I would encourage you to read it (yes, it's long, but we serve a very big God!) and allow Jesus to humble you before the grandness of who He is.
