Life in Uganda

The last week and a half has been fun, full and blessed.  We are into a comfortable routine, things are going well and we are enjoying the kiddos!  We are helping mostly with the boys, ages 1 to 6.  They are full of energy and cuteness (and lots of trouble = ) ).  There are two rooms of boys.  Leah is in one and I am in the other, and we each have another volunteer that works in the room with us.  The rooms are set up to be like individual families, with full-time Ugandan women who act as the mamas for the kids.    Our day consists of lots of playing, lots of diapers, lots of energy, baths, food and laughter.  Twice a week we each take on child into town for an outing.  This can be anything from a trip to the store for groceries, to a treat from a cafe, to just walking around seeing life outside the home.  We also each have one-on-one time with a child once a week.  This is time spent on the property, but away from the other kids.  Around the edges we spend time with the babies.  There are 12 babies right now, so there is always someone who is happy to be held, changed or played with.  Here are some pictures...enjoy!

Thank you all for the prayers!  Like we've said, they are invaluable to us!  Please continue to pray for us as we seek to be God's light to those that He places before us.

Blessings,
Hannah and Leah

Okay, crying again! I want to go live there and love them all forever! I'm so proud of what you girls are doing, and a wee little bit scared of where this might lead!
