Cement

For a long time we had been hoping to put in a sidewalk from the house to the cottage, add a cement pad for rollerblading and basketball, and cement the tack room floor, but they were at the bottom of the priority list.  This fall, thanks to Abba, Ima and Marnie we were able to get them done.  We had the cement delivered and then did the leveling ourselves (mostly Daddy).  They have been soooooo nice, and we have gotten a lot of use out of them already.

To the tack room.

Getting ready to pour the sidewalk.

Here it comes.

It was hard work.

Abba, David and Daddy leveling the cement pad.

This fall we were also able to refill the barn and level the floor back out.  Our friend Josh came over with his family's bobcat and moved and leveled all the dirt for us.  We had about 15 tons delivered, and I was super glad we didn't have to move it all by bucket and wheelbarrow!  It was so pretty I didn't want to put the horses back in there.

Thank you, Abba, Ima, Moo and Josh for your help!
